The physical thermostat is an excellent design, a nice step up from the legacy model. It loses some of the features such as the battery and USB power option. It does come with a power bridge. But it is somewhat cumbersome to install and cannot be installed in conventional 2-wire systems, without a C-wire. But did get it installed with a generic power adapter.
Once installed, it works very well. The unit has a very nice interface which is easy to navigate. But, the interface through Alexa is very basic and does not offer much more than temperature and mode settings. It also insists on opening in Celsius and i have to flip around to get it to show Fahrenheit. I also miss the widget that would show yhe current temperature on my phone home.
But otherwise, it appears a solid thermostat.

I like the ease of installation.
It could use more documentation of what advanced settings do for the average DIY person.

It is a sleek, updated, modern thermostat. Very easy to set up. I wish it had history usage. I would like to know throughout the dayhowlong it was running.

For an immature product, this thermostat has a lot to love. The Matter integration is very functional, and all but the installer settings are available in Home Assistant. The minimalist approach to functionality is exactly what I wanted in my thermostat.

Re-pairing sensors can be tricky, and the dual CR2450 batteries drain faster than expected. I also had a unit that wasn't working as expected, and Kurt helped me troubleshoot leading up to a replacement.

I'd buy this product again. I'd buy more of these products if I needed them. If Lux offered other products I needed, I would consider them before other brands. I'm excited to see how this company matures and grows over time.

I think sometimes my thermostat still gets a little confused as to the actual temperature in the house, which leads me to giving four stars. I have to touch the thermostat more often than I'd like. Overall though, I wouldn't consider putting competitors like Ecobee or Nest in my house over Lux.

My only major complaint about the TQX is the lack of features in home assistant, and the general closed-ness.

From my experience so far, I am unable to access or control:
- The fan state
- Usage information
- Readings from the attached sensors (except from the thermostat's onboard sensor

All of this information is available on the thermostat itself, and may be available in other smart home solutions, but not in home assistant.

The Lux TQX Smart Thermostat for Home seems to be a very powerful and effective way to replace your current thermostat to maximize the temperature control in your home. However, the five wire installation and wire splitter install is complicated. This system requires a furnace side installation as well as a wall mount set up in your home to replace your current thermostat. The furnace installation has a five wire connector going to a power bridge system that Lux included in the shipment of materials. The thermostat replacement for a conventional system as a 5 to 4 replacement diagram and the splitter set up might not work with a traditional wiring install for your current thermostat. This seems to be a very good thermostat, however it did not work for my home.

I've been using a pretty basic digital thermostat for a while now, but ever since I've added a Home Assistant server and tons of smart lights to the house I've been wanting to try one of these. So far I've been really loving the change, as has my wallet. The ability to manage this from outside the home has been a huge change as I can set routines from home assistant to turn everything down super low when no one is home and have it automatically return back to normal routines once someone is home. In terms of install and setup this was honestly easier than the old digital thermostat. I did have to run a new wire from the furnace to the thermostat, but the directions included with this made it all super easy to understand despite not having run new thermostat leads prior to this install. Once it was powered on the initial boot walks you through connecting it and setting initial parameters and from there it's all super easy. Had routines and everything setup quickly and easily in Home Assistant. Took about an hour from start to finish. These are pretty pricey up front, but the money saved from being able to finely tune routines means that it pays for itself very quickly. The efficient difference is pretty remarkable and really becomes noticeable right around month 2 of ownership.

First of all, I'd like to say how happy I am with how well it was packaged. It showed up in good shape and was not damaged, and all the parts I needed were in the box. It was easy to set up and install because the instructions were clear and simple, which is a bonus, you know what I mean, and I'm sure you do. The lettering is easy to see and read. The color is nice, solid, and it does the job quite well. I'm very happy with it. I like my temperature set the way it's supposed to be and not have to worry about it. Excellent value for the money. I'm really glad I got it. Good job again.

so this thermostate is a good unit works with many application but please know you but have a set up that supplies power for the unit to work. with out 12v power unit doesnt work. but when it does its great vlaue for the price sets up easy and connects and work well too not to sold on the room sensors as i have never had good luck with any unit kind. but other then that is a simple and looks great give a moder look to any house or office.

Installation for this was easier than I thought it might be. It worked immediately the first time it was connected. Although I have a C wire, it's awesome that they provide options if you don't have one. Since I didn't need them, I'm not certain how difficult it is for the alternative, but at least they offer it. I'm not super tech savvy, but the interface is easy to use. It has a lot of different options which I won't use like sensors. It appears to work exactly as intended, but like I said, I'm not very tech savvy and I'm not using a lot of the extra features. I use a basic schedule with it (which is easy to set) and that's about all. However, it beats the heck out of the old thermostat from the 80's that was in the house and it looks very nice and much more updated. I think the value is pretty good given how simple the whole thing is and yet it can be highly technical if you need it to be. Great for us as we'll have our house for a few more years and then we'll be moving, so this provides an updated option for the buyers.

Lux TQX smart thermostat with matter capability, comes with room, temperature control, digital thermostat, all accessories needed, functions great easy to install, control ability works with Alexa and Google, great value for the money, functions great so far so good….. looks a little intimidating at first, but they had wonderful instruction manual that came with the entire set. Just follow that and you’ll be good to go. Every day we’re getting new smart devices to make our homes function better, save energy, and peace of mind when we’re away to be able to control anything easy as 123. This is the new world that we’re headed towards so embrace it and get on board with the best manufacturer Lux makes a wonderful product.

We wanted to add a smart thermostat to our house to help us with energy efficiency. We also have begun investing in home automation. This thermostat helps us further both goals. The thermostat is easy to configure and install. We attached the faceplate with anchors and were up and running in about 5 minutes. The thermostat needs about 3 weeks for the learning functions to work. We are looking forward to the additional automation and control.

My husband replaced our late 80s thermostat (pic) with this new thermostat. It looks so much better! We weren't sure about the plate that goes behind the thermostat but it was necessary to cover the old holes. My husband said the instructions were very good. He also liked that it came with extra pieces. He installed it in about an hour and hasn't done this kind of work before. We tested it out afterwards and the AC and heater came on, as we changed the setting. There is some sort of app but it doesn't really work with this device. This is fine with me as I don't mind to set it from home. There are remote sensors we could have added but we didn't see the need for them in our home. There was also an option to have it sense if people were in the home or not, so it would turn on or off depending on if people were home. I could see that option being helpful but we didn't feel like we needed it. I found it understandable enough to set...whereas the one from the 80s I never could figure out how to set the time and temp. I could only turn it on and off. Lol. We have now moved forward 40 years of technology and my husband and I are happy with the results.

I love all the home automation I am able to do with Alexa as it is compatible with so many manufactures. This WiFi thermostat is easy to install but I must admit I have installed several, but stick with the instructions if your first time, instructions are thorough so covered there. Display is very good too and menu easy to follow or program. What is really special is this unit also comes with a remote sensor.

This came with a good manual that makes wiring a breeze. it even has an adapter just in case you do not have a C wire to work with. All the screws that you need are included along with a few other useful items. The screen, though small, is easy to read and the whole unit just looks stylish. I am at a loss to see how this fancy-function thermostat is of any use, at all, in any unbalanced climate control system. Since it has the capability of utilizing multiple temperature sensors in different rooms I thought that it would have some way of controlling each room separately (multi zone system.) As far as I can tell: It does not. It does have some auxiliary outputs, however I could not find a way to configure them to control air flow in each zone, individually, while sychronously controlling the function of the central unit. After all the listing says "Remote sensors to monitor your home, using occupancy and temperature to optimize comfort in rooms." So, what is the point of having multi sensor capability? If, in cooling mode, one room is running hotter than the others, you either need to balance the flow of air so that it is distributed effectively to each room or parts of a large room, or, you need to set up a multi-zone duct system...depending on the cause of the imbalance. Multiple sensors that read the temperature in each room will not help to correct this problem. All it will do is cause the system to over-cool the rest of the rooms in an effort to cool the one warmer room. I have a four zone system running off of a single central geo-thermal heat pump unit...Great room/bedrooms/bathrooms/florida room...each zone can be individually heated and/or cooled...you may want to cool the kitchen while heating the bathroom.... I wanted this for it's connectivity, advanced climate control scheduling/features and, mostly, centralized multi-room sensor management. Those features seem to be great, but, it is still only a one zone system...totally incapable of correcting a temperature/humidity balance problem...no matter how "smart," it is. This is an un-fortunate over sell on their part...opening their product to criticism over their unfounded claims. K.I.S.S. If they hadn't mentioned such capabilities then I would not need to point them out as shortcomings. Now, if you are going to use this with just the one sensor array ...the sensors look at more than just the temperature...or if your home is well balanced, already, then I do agree that this thermostat would be of some benefit. Learning your schedule...when you are home or not...is a great function that it can do totally automatically. It can then adjust its function, to adapt to your comfort needs, in the most energy efficient way. You can also benefit from synchronization with other smart devices, like lights being controlled by this systems occupancy sensors, in your home. I do like how the display changes when it senses that you are likely looking at it and blacks out if no one is around to see it...or at least they say it turns off...I've never actually seen it happen.... Remote smart phone integration is a huge feature. It works with many popular APPs. I think this would be an ideal thermostat in a short term rental property. It's features are conducive with the unusual demands of such an environment. It could save allot of money, in that situation, without you having to physically go there to adjust/monitor the system.
